Law studies have been an increasingly popular field of study in the country. Law companies, every year are employing a number of new lawyers in their firms for their practice areas.
Porto Lawyers provides to its users a small list of universities with the most popular law programs. However, our vortal Porto Lawyers does not suggest that any university is better than the another as this is not in our research area, therefore the order in which the Universities from the list below are presented is not a popularity ranking.
1. University of Oxford
The University of Oxford is situated in the United Kingdom. Oxford’s Law Faculty is the larger law faculty within Great Britain. The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise of the British government showed that Oxford University’s law School has one of the top rated research activity for the years 2001-2007 than any other law school in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, Oxford’s Bodleian Law Library is one of the two or three most significant research libraries within the United Kingdom.
2. University Of London – King’s College London (KCL)
King’s College London is one of the Britain’s oldest and most important universities.
KCL’s School of Law is situated within Strand campus, one of the largest campuses in the United Kingdom and has recently rated as one of the Britain’s top five law schools.
3. Queen Mary Univercity of London (QMUL)
Queen Mary’s University Law Scholl in London Uk, offers to more than 700 students postgraduate research and teaching activities. Queen Mary’s Law Department has a wide number of research and teaching activities. The University of London is one of the largest universities around the world and well known for its excellence in legal studies. University of London External Program offers a great opportunity to students around the world to get the Master of Laws by distance learning. The university’s LLM degree it has been created by University College London (UCL) and Queen Mary’s academics.

7. Leiden University - Leiden Law School
Leiden University is Netherlands oldest university, founded in February 1575. The university was a gift from William of Orange to Leiden citizens. Leiden University was the first university in Netherlands that practiced the freedom on belief and religion.
8. University of London - University College London (UCL)
In 2000 the Institute of Global Law was established by the University College London. UCL’s Institute of Global Law is encouraged by the government in the UK as the Institute it self has the acknowledgment global national laws. Its London unique position gives the university access to courts and governmental bodies.
9. University of Edinburgh
The University of Edinburg has an outstanding teaching tradition for more than 400 years. It was founded in 1583 and is one of the Scotland’s ancient universities. In the year 2009 Edinburg University was ranked by the Times Higher Education survey as the 20th best in the world.
10. University of London - The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)
LSE’s Law Department is one of the largest departments in the university. The Law Department of LSE had a major impact of the lawyers’ education and law teaching from around the world.
